Robust Beaujolais that has nothing to do style-wise with nouveau. Dark cherry and a core of sensuality in this medium-bodied, smooth, supple French red wine made from the Gamay grape.

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Lovely medium body pale ruby with a hint of purple Gamay. Fresh red and black cherry, a touch of spice, supple tannins, and refreshing acidity. The length is long on a'n velvet finish. Easily enjoyed on it's own. I would have liked to try this wine with my friend 's deer meat sausage. Fleurie is found in the north of Beaujolais and covers approximately 3 sq. miles. The soil here is made up of mostly pinkish granite which makes it a unique locale in the Beaujolais region. Known for producing light, aromatic wines. Good value.

Jessica Nagy rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Cassis and black cherry with characteristic Swedish berry on the nose. The satiny tannins and crisp acidity with a hit of minerality allow this Gamay to punch above its weight class.
Paired with a mushroom ravioli in tomato and goat's cheese sauce with arugula and, while not a perfect match, the acidity in the wine stood up well to the creamy sauce.
This Cru Beaujolais is made by Claude Grosjean, the daughter of a winemaker in the region of Fleurie. She took over the vines of her father in 1982. This wine comes from a small 40 acre plot of 60-year-old Gamay vines on the lieu-dit "Le Vivier" made of sandy pink granite soil. This Beaujolais shows blackberry with a good centre of minerality. Pair this red wine with cured meats or grilled fish. The 2013 vintage of the Fleurie Le Vivier finishes with dark berries and smoke. - Community Wine Reviews
