Domaine Bonnard's Sancerre from Loire is an expansive, medium-bodied white wine offering notes of charred cedar, fresh-cut hay, crushed flint and white blossoms. This dry Sauvignon Blanc displays versatile character and classic Sancerre characteristics that will continue to develop over the next six years. Serve it well chilled with grilled prawns as the wine's mouth-watering minerality complements the charred shellfish, or pair it with goat cheese-stuffed roasted red peppers where the wine's energetic profile balances the tangy cheese. Winemaker Michel Bonnard crafts this wine from grapes sourced from vines grown in calcareous, Kimmeridgian marl and stony clay soils typical of Loire, creating tangerine and Anjou pear complexity alongside powdery mineral flavors on the palate. This food-friendly Sancerre would be perfect with poached salmon or a simple grilled herbed flatbread topped with goat cheese and represents excellent quality and will drink beautifully through 2032.

Sancerre food pairings: grilled prawns, poached salmon, roasted herbed chicken, goat cheese-stuffed roasted red peppers.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
