Natalie's Score: 96/100

Toasty with white floral, bright citrus, stone fruit, sweet spice aromas on the nose. Linear, focussed with a persistent mousse of fresh citrus, peach, anise and toasted brioche flavours on the palate with a forever finish. Drinking beautifully now, but what a dilemma as it could easily hold in cellar for another 10 years. It would be interesting to see how this marvellous vintage champagne continues to evolve.

Champagne food pairings: Thai coconut shrimp, pasta with cheese-based sauce.

Reviews and Ratings

Dom Pérignon Luminous 2008 is a creamy, toasty vintage Champagne. Complex with nutty, lemon cream, white pepper and nutty, toasty flavours with a persistent mousse of the tiniest bubbles on the palate. You can enjoy it now or hold on to it (that is going to be very difficult) for 10 to 15 more years in cellar to see where it goes from here. Oh well, buy a case. Chill and enjoy now and for the next 20 years. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
