A full-bodied Spanish red wine from one of the country's most respected producers. Aromas of dark fruit and smoke. Great structure. Pair this with a rare steak.

Reviews and Ratings

Leo rated this wine as 90/100
Jacky Blisson rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This cuvée offers consistently high quality with each new vintage. The 2013 Petalos is brimming with bright grapey, black cherry fruit and pretty dark floral notes, with intriguing herbal and meaty undertones. Vibrant acidity gives way to a firm, medium weight mid-palate with moderate concentration of savoury and dark fruit flavours. The tannins are firm and grainy on the medium length finish.
This wine is made from the Mencia grape, which is called Jaen in Portugal. Lovely dark spices and pepper on the finish. There were 330,000 bottles produced. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
