Natalie's Score: 92/100

A silky and elegant Pinot Noir produced by De Bartoli in the Yarra Valley with grapes sourced from the Brookland Vineyard. Layered with dark cherry, red berry, raspberry and savoury herb flavours on the palate. GS is for "Gulf Station" and was the original pastoral holding of the Bell family who settled in the Yarra Valley in 1864. The site of today's De Bortoli vineyard was known as "the summer paddock". Delicious now. Pair with duck confit.

Pinot Noir food pairings: chicken, pasta, planked salmon, braised lamb, roast beef, rosemary pork tenderloin.

From the Yarra Valley, Victoria De Bortoli G.S. 2018 Pinot Noir is a silky layered PN with soft black cherry, crushed raspberry, baking spice and dried fine herb flavours on the palate. Tannins are fine with vibrant, food-friendly acidity for grilled pork chops and lamb lollipops. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
