Natalie's Score: 93/100

Daou Pessimist 2021 is a dry and full-bodied red wine blend of 76% Petite Sirah, 12% Zinfandel, 10% Syrah and 2% Lagrein aged 10 months in French oak barrels (50% new). Rich and fleshy with earthy florals, dark berry, cassis, plum, smoky and anise spice flavours matched with beautifully balanced acidity, so friendly and vibrant on the palate, this Paso Robles red is not pessimistic at all. Enjoy it through 2027.

Food pairings: game roasts, bison burgers, roast beef, meaty stews.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
