Chives, lemongrass and nettle on the nose and palate of this vibrant Spanish white wine with racy acidity. This is a blend Viura, Parellada and Xarel-lo grapes, the same varieties used to make Spanish sparkling wine, Cava. This wine is produced by the fifth generation of the family who founded the winery.

Food pairings: seafood tapas, pan-fried trout, shellfish.

Reviews and Ratings

Greg Hughes rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This is a neat wine made by the Spanish 'Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España' (C.V.N.E., pronounced KOU-ney). The operating rage for this famous house is mostly limited to Rioja. This wine of theirs is built entirely around Viura (Macabeo) fermented in stainless steel at cool temperatures to preserve the aromatics and primary fruit of the Viura grape.
Very pale lemon-green colour. Nucleation sites in the wine glass (little bubbles), once opened. This means the wine was made anaerobically at super cold temperatures, in tanks - super fresh tasting
Aromas of dandelion, chlorophyl, dried apple, melon, and clover.
The flavours are super crisp and clean. Zesty citrus ranging from sweetlime to lemon juice. Green apple skin and sorrel.
Pair it with a summer salad, with goat cheese and cranberry.
Love it! Clementine, white peach and baking spice with white floral notes, exotic. The wine blend is Viura, Parellada and Xarel-lo grapes, the same varieties used to make Spanish sparkling wine, Cava. This wine is produced by the fifth generation of the family who founded the winery. - Community Wine Reviews
