Cune Reserva 2015 is a medium-plus-bodied 85% Tempranillo with 15% Garnacha Tinta, Graciano and Mazuelo sourced from the Rioja Alta wine region and aged for 18 months in French and American oak barrels. Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España was founded in 1879 but a misunderstanding about the 'V' written as a 'U' on the label of a wine bottle led to the Cune label. On the palate, the wine is bright and fresh with dark berry, fresh plum and cedar spice flavours. Finishes savoury with well-integrated tannins.

Food pairings: smoked meats, burgers, ribs.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
