From Rioja Alta, Cune's Reserva is a polished, classically structured blend led by Tempranillo alongside Garnacha, Graciano, and Mazuelo, aged up to 18 months in a thoughtful combination of American and French oak barrels that lends the wine its signature warmth and elegance. Deep garnet in the glass, it opens with dried plum, dark raspberry, a ribbon of pipe tobacco, and subtle notes of leather and crushed violets, with earthy, herb-laced undertones that speak unmistakably of Rioja. The palate is medium-to-full-bodied, dry, and beautifully balanced with velvety well-knit tannins and a clean, lingering finish. Serve it slightly below room temperature and enjoy now through 2034, as this wine has the structure and depth to reward patience. Bodegas CVNE was founded in 1879 and remains one of Rioja's most storied family-owned estates, with current winemaker MarĂa Larrea guiding its wines with a steady, tradition-honoring hand. Pair it with slow-smoked lamb chops glazed with rosemary and garlic, where the wine's earthy depth and firm structure will complement the richness of the meat beautifully, or enjoy it alongside a hearty mushroom and caramelized onion flatbread topped with aged manchego for a satisfying, rustic match.

Food pairings: smoked meats, burgers, ribs.
