Courtois La Grange Vinsobres offers concentrated aromas of raspberry, lavender and hints of iron. It's dry and medium-to-full bodied with a polished texture. Serve it slightly below room temperature with slow-braised osso buco where the wine's bright acidity cuts through the marrow's richness while its herbal notes complement the gremolata, or cellar it through 2032. Brothers Pascal and Richard Jaume lead this fifth-generation family estate, which acquired the Courtois property in 2003 when the winery had fallen into disrepair but the vineyards remained in remarkable condition. The estate sits at the northern edge of the southern Rhône at 350 to 450 meters elevation, earning Vinsobres the nickname "le Nord du Sud" (the North of the South) for its unique position between the regions. This versatile wine also pairs beautifully with herb-roasted turkey breast with cranberry relish, where the wine's fresh red fruit echoes the tart berries while its supple tannins balance the meat's tender richness.

Food pairings: roast leg of lamb, osso buco, roast turkey, duck confit.
