In 1687, the wine estate of Pierre de Beaucastel was ennobled by King Louis XIV who obviously knew good wine. Produced by the Famille Perrin, Coudoulet de Beaucastel is a gorgeous Côtes Du Rhône red layered with ripe cherry, raspberry, wild herbs and mouth-filling with a long spicy finish. Drink or hold.

Food pairings: braised meats, herbed steaks, venison.

Reviews and Ratings

Coudoulet De Beaucastel 2017 is a juicy, medium-plus-bodied Rhône red wine blend of 40% Grenache, 30% Mourvèdre, 20% Syrah and 10% Cinsault. Each varietal is hand-harvested and vinified separately and the wine was aged in oak casks for six months. This is an easy-to-enjoy and plushy red wine with ripe cherry, raspberry, red plum, earthy with dried garrigue herbs on the palate. Pour with grilled pork chops. - Community Wine Reviews
