Lots of mocha and dark chocolate on the nose from oak aging. Sweet purple plums on the palate. It's full-bodied with layers of voluptuous dark fruit. Perfect for meat lovers' pizza and meat sauce pasta. This Primitivo (aka Zinfandel) offers dark spice and vanilla smoke on the finish. Pair with Bolognese or salami and charcuterie.

Primitivo food pairings: veal scaloppini in a sun-dried tomato sauce, salad, pasta.

Reviews and Ratings

Gioia del Colle is nestled in the centre of the Puglia region and is known as the Italian heart of Primitivo (Zinfandel). Deep plushy ripe purple and black plum aromas on the nose with blueberry and mulberry on the palate. Dry, full-bodied with velvety tannins and good acidity. Drink now with a veal Parmesan (with lots of freshly grated cheese and a rich tomato sauce). - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
