Conde Valdemar Blanco Kosher D.O.Ca. Rioja is a medium-light, 100% Viura, fermented in stainless steel to preserve the variety's natural freshness and aromatic character, and it's one of the few kosher Spanish whites to earn serious attention from Rioja critics. On the nose it's fresh and fragrant, with white nectarine, dried acacia blossom, a whisper of fresh ginger, and a cool mineral thread. The palate is bright and juicy, with lemon curd, tangerine zest, and a clean, refreshing finish with lively, food-friendly acidity. The Martínez Bujanda family at Bodegas Valdemar have been farming in Rioja Alavesa since 1889, and fifth-generation siblings Jesús and Ana were also the first European winery family to own and operate an estate in Washington State when they established Valdemar Estates in Walla Walla in 2019. Serve it well chilled now through 2027 with steamed mussels and saffron, where the wine's bright acidity and citrus notes are a natural match, or try it with linguine with clams and parsley for a casual pairing that is hard to improve upon.

Blanco Kosher food pairings: Seared halibut with herb butter, steamed mussels with saffron, linguine with clams and parsley, shrimp ceviche with citrus.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
