A terrific full-bodied red wine for the money! Black fruit, tannic grip on the palate so decant 1-2 hours. Great with hearty meat dishes.

Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot food pairings: braised meats, hearty stews.

Reviews and Ratings

The Devon Valley acts as a natural receptacle for the summer morning mists around Stellenbosch, resulting in cooler temperatures than the surrounding areas. This means that the grapes grown on Clos Malverne enjoy a longer ripening season, and can develop significant levels of ripeness without sacrificing freshness. Hickory smoke, ripe cherry, currants and cinnamon spice set the stage for a generously fruity, smooth and succulent wine with caressing tannins. Source: Vintages Wine Panel, Oct. 2013
