From Australia's Canberra District, Clonakilla Hilltops 2017 Shiraz is perfumed with exotic aromas of dark spices, pink florals, dark cherry and dark berries. The wine is dry, full-bodied, lush, smoky and spicy with ripe dark cherry, dark berry compote, cracked black pepper, savoury flavours and pleasantly grippy, fine-grained tannins. Shiraz grapes for this vintage were sourced from five vineyards in the Young wine region and were cold soaked on their skins for a couple of days prior to fermentation with a portion of the grapes added whole clustered. The wine is then aged in French oak barrels for almost a year. Pour with roast beef dinner.
