The only thing that this wine will please more than the crowd are the wallets they carry. This is always a deservedly popular Clare Shiraz. An intense vibrant crimson hue, this is all chocolate and blackberries with plums, root vegetables, cloves, bay leaves, soy and licorice. A touch of cassis on the finish ties it together. This is a savoury style with a supple texture, sleek tannins, good balance, fine acidity and real length. There is good intensity throughout and it will prove why it is so popular, over the next eight to ten years. Cracking value. Drink by: 2025-2035. (94 points Ken Gargett,winepilot.com,Feb. 2025) MINE: Inky crimson in the glass, this Claymore Dark Side Of The Moon Shiraz unfolds dark-chocolate and blackberry compote, underscored by clove, bay-leaf and licorice notes; supple tannins and bright acid propel a long, savory finish. A great partner to grilled ribeye or spicy sausage pizza. NEW: Claymore names its wines after classic albums and songs, so of course there's a Dark Side of the Moon. This Clare Valley Shiraz brims with mulberry and black olive. Put the record on while it breathes for the full experience. Sear a striploin in a cast-iron pan and pour a glass.

Shiraz food pairings: grilled New York striploin steak, roast leg of lamb, veal medallions in a rich wild mushroom sauce.
