Reviews and Ratings

L.J. Palmer WSET 3 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Wine is deep ruby in colour, dry, full bodied, round, smooth and supple with mouthwatering acidity and a medium intensity nose featuring aromas of red cherry, raspberry, smoke, kirsch and vanilla. Principal taste is red cherry and leather. Finish is long. From the label: 80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, hand harvested and selected. Very pleasant with grilled steak and to sip on its own. This wine should be left to breathe an hour or so for best results.
Wineboy rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Having read the reviews of others which are a year old, I believe this wine has smoothed out nicely. I would describe this wine as plush and smooth with a layer of fruit and a layer of various herbs followed by a crisp dryness.
Château Tour Bayard (2012) in Montagne-Saint-Émilion, Bordeaux, has been owned by the same family for three generations. Grapes from this winery are hand-harvested. The wine blend is 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc. Tannins are quite firm and the 2012 vintage could easily cellar for a few years to show its best. Drink now and for the next five years. - Community Wine Reviews
