Wet stone after a spring rain plus lemon zest and lime refreshment. Love this zingy Washington state white wine made form classic Riesling grapes. Fantastic value. Pair with fresh Dover sole in melted butter. A crisp and refreshing Washington state white wine from the varietal they do best: Riesling. Lots of racy juiciness on the palate for food like shellfish. The Columbia Valley region is experiencing surging popularity among wine drinkers.

Riesling food pairings: roast chicken, spicy pasta dishes, shrimp tempura, grilled salmon with lemon sauce, duck liver pate.

Reviews and Ratings

Greg Hughes rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Washington is a great place to look for quality at a good price. They are relatively new to the scene, but gaining consumer confidence and sales moemtum quickly. It won't be long before Washington winemakers ask a more fair price for what they offer. This one shows tremendous value.
Washington is hot, but it also has massive temperature swings seasonally, and also between day and night. This is exactly the right conditions for ultra ripe Riesling. Without compromising acidity levels.
Pretty lemony colouration.
Lowish alcohol and sporting a bit of residual sugar, this Riesling's aromatics have a lot of peach and tangerine. Some vanilla and white floral notes too. Very soft and pretty.
Great freshness and acidity on the palate. Lipsmacking and juicy. Lots more stone fruit and citrus.
Put this wine with some glazed swordfish or similar decadent seafood.
This may even keep, as a midterm cellar candidate (3-5 years).
Chateau Ste. Michelle (2015) Riesling from the Columbia Valley wine region in Washington is flinty with lemon/lime zest. Great value with lots of great acidity to cut through smoked fish, creamy sauces or mild curries. Drink now and for the next three years. Pair with poached whitefish in cream sauce, light mild curries and sushi. - Community Wine Reviews
