Produced by Vignobles Xavier Milhade, from vineyards near the Fronsac wine region in Bordeaux, Château Recougne 2015 Superieur is full-bodied, red wine blend of 85% Merlot with the balance in Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Lovely dark plum, underbrush, savoury herbs and cake spice aromas on the nose; rich on the palate with ripe dark plum, red cherries, cake spice, earthy herb flavours on the palate. Pair it with a rib roast done rare.

Food pairings: lamb cutlets, beef tenderloin, pork shoulder roast.

Reviews and Ratings

Château Recougne Bordeaux Superieur is a Merlot-dominated red wine with 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and Cab Franc. Grapes are sourced from vineyards near the Fronsac wine region. Great value under $20. This is a full-bodied red with sweet herb and blue floral aromas and with fresh red and dark berry, red cherry and baking spice flavours on the palate. The wine saw elevage in cement tanks. Pair with roast beef. - Community Wine Reviews
