Reviews and Ratings

Sylvain Segard rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Château Musar is a massive blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault, Carignan, and Grenache. It is a deep ruby, almost black in colour. The aroma is rich and intense with aromas of stewed and dry fruits; a savoury, herbal, and cedar bouquet; atop a mildly pungent smell of cured meat, soya sauce, barnyard and leather. The palate equally powerful with hearty texture, abundant yet refined tannins, and a lasting finish of dried fruits and almond paste. Built to last! Should be decanted before serving with a game stew, goulash, or meshoui. Score 92. (S.Segard, reviewed Mar. 02, 2017)
Chateau Musar (2009) is produced by Proprietor, Gaston Hochar, and this wine from the Bekka Valley is considered Lebanon's flagship wine. However, the 2009 has passed its best before time and tastes more stewed than fresh. - Community Wine Reviews.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
