Reviews and Ratings

L.J. Palmer rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This is a blend of 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet from Blaye, Cotes de Bordeaux and is one of my favourites. Deep ruby in colour with a moderate nose, high tannins and an aroma of strawberries. Strawberries and a woody taste on the palate; refreshingly acid. This wine drinks best with food; roast beef, medium doneness, cooked with Herbes de provence rub, was an excellent pairing as was aged cheddar cheese.
Château L'espérance 2010 is a rich and full-bodied 80% Merlot, 12% Malbec, 8% Cabernet Sauvignon red wine blend from Côtes De Bordeaux - Blaye, Bordeaux wine region. The winery was so named Espérance (hope) by the proprietor, Johan Jonck. The hoping must have worked because 2010 was an excellent vintage year. Enjoy now and for the next 10 years. Pair with a venison filet mignon. - Community Wine Reviews

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
