A remarkable Bordeaux red wine from the superb 2006 vintage that still has a long life ahead of it! Leoville Las Cases is known for creating benchmark wines in the Medoc region. Although it hails from the St. Julien district, it has the longevity and towering structure of Paulliac. The estate owner is Jean-Hubert Delon. Decant 1-2 hours. Although this wine is technically classified as a second growth, it is first rate. This is one of five store product codes designated to the same wine in this release. Pair with filet mignon.

Only a meager 40% of the 2006 crop was bottled for the estate's flagship final blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14.5% Merlot, and the remainder, Cabernet Franc grapes. Still has great cellaring potential. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
