Château Lamothe Bergeron 2016 is a dry, full-bodied and fragrant red wine blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot grapes sourced from the Haut-Médoc. The wine is a beautiful Bordeaux classic with rich dark berry, cassis, plum, cherry, savoury herbs, subtle spicy and tobacco leaf flavours concentrated on the palate and framed with rich tannins and was matured in French oak barrels (30% new). Excellent value at $30. The chateau itself is also a classic with traditional turrets and myriad windows overlooking the estate and dates back to the 19th century. Recently renovated, it now features a tasting room, a wine shop, Chefs' kitchen, a living-room, four suites and a meeting room.

Food pairings: rib steaks, roast beef, filet mignon.
