Savoury and meaty with a pleasantly bitter finish. Smoky black fruit yet juicy enough for drier meats. Great value.

Meritage food pairings: grilled rare lamb chops.

Medium ruby colour with just a hint of garnet on the edge. Another example of the superior quality of the 2008 vintage. Aromas of black cherry, cassis, woodsmoke, tar and vanilla dominate. Dry and tangy with vibrant fruit and firm tannins on the mid-palate. Medium-full bodied with a well-typed finish. Fruit here is like the Energizer bunny: it just keeps going and going. Cellar it 2-4 years. Source: Vintages Wine Catalogue.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
