Excellent value on this full-bodied Corbières red blend of mostly Syrah with a smattering of Grenache and Carignan. Grape vines are an average of 30 years of age. Look for dark and red berry flavours on the palate with savoury herbs and sweet cake spice flavours on the palate wrapped up in toast oak. Winemaker, Guilhem Durand has been producing wine in the south of France for over 25 years. Pair with game dishes and mushroom risotto.

Food pairings: meat lover's pizza, tourtière, gourmet burgers.

Produced from 80% Syrah, Grenache and Carignan Old Vine grapes sourced from the Languedoc wine region. Château La Bastide 2016 is a full-bodied red with dark cherry, red and dark berries, cedar and sweet spice flavours on the palate finishes with toasty oak spice. Winemaker, Guilhem Durand has been making wine for over 25 years. Decant for one hour and enjoy with meaty game dishes. - Community Wine Reviews

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
