This southern French red wine from the Cahors region is made from 100% Malbec grapes. Deeply concentrated in flavour, weight and texture. A brooding black-fruited wine with full-bodied texture. Black plums and berry notes with a hint of black pepper. Decant 1-2 hours. Pair with grilled meats.

Malbec food pairings: steak, game, hamburgers, pork tenderloin with a wine reduction sauce, grilled lamb chops.

Reviews and Ratings

Chateau Haut-Monplaisir is a broody Malbec from Cahors, southwest France. Lots of charry black-fruit with cracked black pepper on the palate. Tannins are dense, powerful and this full-bodied, vibrant and broody red is a great cellaring candidate. Pair with roast boar. - Community Wine Reviews
