Château Ferran's Pessac-Léognan is a bone-dry, medium-bodied white Bordeaux of real precision and understated elegance, opening with a subtle and inviting bouquet of warm toasted brioche, white peach blossom, preserved lemon, fennel frond, and a cool, chiselled streak of wet stone minerality that immediately signals the wine's serious, terroir-driven character. It's crisp and beautifully structured on the palate, with a bright, defining acidity, a textured, almost tactile mouthfeel, and a long, austere finish that lingers with quiet authority and refinement. Pessac-Léognan is one of Bordeaux's most prestigious appellations for white wine, its gravelly soils and cool microclimate producing Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon blends of remarkable complexity and longevity, and Château Ferran is a fine and characterful expression of everything this celebrated terroir has to offer. The estate itself dates back centuries, sitting in the heart of the Graves region just south of the city of Bordeaux, surrounded by the ancient woodland and gravelly ridges that define this iconic landscape. Serve it slightly below room temperature alongside grilled prawns with a garlic and herb butter, where the wine's mineral drive and citrusy brightness cut through the richness with wonderful precision, or pair it with grilled chicken and roasted vegetables, letting the wine's textured elegance and austere character find a natural and satisfying home at the table. Drink now or cellar through 2030.

Food pairings: Grilled chicken and roasted vegetables, grilled prawns.
