Natalie's Score: 90/100

A full-bodied juicy southern French red wine with dark fruit. Usually wines from the Cahors region are darker, blacker and oakier, but this one is not and delightfully so! Very nicely done, especially for the price. Not heavy on alcohol either for this region. Savoury, juicy and balanced with dried herbs on the finish.

Food pairings: beef and roasted root vegetables casserole, beef steak on the barbeque, roast rack of lamb.

Reviews and Ratings

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Rich dark berries, plum, fig, pepper, leather, and a touch of underbrush. Palate is rich and layered with dried fruit, black berry, leather and spice leading to a long finish. Great texture with moderate tannins making this young Bordeaux a prime candidate for short term enjoyment. Drink 2016-2019. Tasted June 2016. 90 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
Old World style wine made from Malbec and Tannat grapes make up this wine from Southern France. Concentrated black plum and dark berry flavours on the nose, with rich, black plum, boysenberry and dried green herbs on the palate. Dark and broody, the wine has firm tannins, great acidity and is well made and well balanced. Cellar for a couple of years for all of it to come gloriously together. - Community Wine Reviews
