Reviews and Ratings

Rebecca Meir-Liebman - Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

A lovely, viscous, dense and syrupy wine, it is a great example of how Sauternes can age well, and at 14-years-of-age, this is just the beginning of its life. It can easily age for another 25 years. It boasts the perfect amount of acidity needed to balance the fruitiness of ripe apricot and peach, the sweetness of honey, as well as its nutty, and white flower notes. This Sauternes is deep gold in colour and a divine pleasure to sip!
Château Doisy-Védrines 2004 Sauternes is a sweet white wine blend of Muscadelle , Sauvignon and Sémillon with honeyed pear, orange citrus and cake spice flavours from the botrytis character of the Sémillon wine grapes. Good acidity on this wine to cut through rich desserts and pairings like foie gras and blue-veined cheeses. - Community Wine Reviews

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
