Reviews and Ratings

Tania Thomas - CSW, WSET ADV rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

From the chalky terroir of Saint Christoph des Bardes comes this intense merlot-dominated Saint-Émilion blend. Pronounced aromas and flavours of ripe black fruit and juicy plums. Strong backbone of firm tannins, starting to mellow. Plush, smooth and concentrated. Closes in a lingering dark chocolate-tinged finish. A given as a pairing with grilled lamb chops. Drink now or lay down for another 3-5 years. Tasted October 2017. Tania Thomas – www.runawaygrape.com
Château Des Bardes (2014) is a Grand Cru Right Bank Bordeaux from Saint-Émilion and the second wine of Château Boutisse. Bordeaux blend for this wine was 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon. Decant for one hour prior to serving with roast beef, or cellar for another three years. - Community Wine Reviews

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Rex Pickett, Sideways

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
