Natalie's Score: 92/100

A luscious, smoky, full-bodied blend of syrah and grenache grapes, at a terrific price. Black pepper and fleshy black plum aromas. Velvet texture. Awesome! The southern French region of Corbières is often underestimated, and yet it's capable of producing blockbuster reds like this one. Usually carignan is part of the blend, but not in this case. Intense and satisfying. Pair with ribeye steak.

Food pairings: lamb.

Reviews and Ratings

Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Impressive Syrah (80%) / Grenache (20%) blend at a fraction of the budget! Dominant aromas include: dark fruit, baking spices and vanilla bean. Tannins are present and grippy but well-balanced with the acidity. This wine is full bodied with pronounced flavours of: cooked black berry fruit, dried fruit, dark chocolate and leather. Finish is long and luscious. Excellent ribeye roast wine!
The southern French wine region of Corbières is the largest appellation within the Languedoc district and is the fourth largest in the country. The 2012 vintage of the Château de Treviac won a Gold Medal at the 2014 Berliner Wein Trophy wine competition. - Community Wine Reviews
