A robust red wine blend that checks in at 14.5% alcohol, though you don't taste that heat on the palate. Rustic and cedary with wild blackberry notes. Richly concentrated and dense.

Food pairings: roast rosemary lamb, rabbit fricassee, roast grouse.

Chateau de la Riviere (2012) is a rustic, medium-bodied red from Fronsac, Bordeaux. This French red is 14.5% abv, but is so rich with dark ripe fruit, smoke and cake spice flavours on the palate, you hardly feel the heat from the alcohol. This wine is mostly Merlot with small amounts of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon in support. Pair with a pork roast. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
