A robust red wine blend that checks in at 14.5% alcohol, though you don't taste that heat on the palate. Rustic and cedary with wild blackberry notes. Richly concentrated and dense.

Reviews and Ratings

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Medaille D'Or Paris 2011. Deep ruby with some slow moving legs. Delicious waft of berries-red and black, coffee, chocolate, leather. The acidity is medium with drying tannins. Suggest decanting prior to serving. This wine is drinking nicely now but there is still potential to age. Lots of juicy fruit and good tannins. Grilled medium-rare steak or charred hamburger would pair nicely. Buy 2. Try one for the upcoming Labour Day BBQ and one to drink in 3-5 years.
Tasted: August 2015
The 2009 vintage of this Bordeaux red wine blend won a Gold Medal winner at the Concours Général Agricole Paris 2011. Lots of black fruit, smoke and anise on the finish. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
