A spectacularly rich, complex and deep southern French red wine blend with aromas of cassis liqueur, blackberry preserves and dark spice. Pair with roast beef.

Châteauneuf-Du-Pape food pairings: rare prime rib, gourmet burgers, roast chicken.

Reviews and Ratings

Château de Beaucastel (2014) have been creating wines with elegance and finesse in Châteauneuf du Pape, between Orange and Avignonin for over 50 years. The 70-hectare vineyard is located at the most terroir at the most northern limit of Châteauneuf du Pape and is exposed to the Mistral wind. All thirteen varieties of the appellation have been organically grown since the sixties. Typical to the area rolled pebbles make up the vineyard's surface with sand, clay and limestone below the stones where the old vines have grown deep. The Famille Perrin blends the 13 varieties which are then aged in oak foudres for a year prior to bottling. The 2014 vintage is a red wine blend of 30% Grenache, 30% Mourvèdre, 10% Counoise, 10% Syrah, 5% Cinsault and 15% Vaccarèse, Terret Noir, Muscardin, Clairette, Picpoul, Picardan, Bourboulenc, Roussanne wine grapes - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
