Love the sour black cherry on the nose and palate of this full-bodied French red wine. Deep concentration and ripeness here. Very smooth on the palate: great right out of the gate. That sourness is on the finish, but again in a pleasant way like cooked black fruit with dark spices.

Reviews and Ratings

Produced by Famille E. Fabre, this robust red wine from southern France is a blend of 50% Syrah, 30% Grenache and 20% Mourvèdre. The vineyards are planted in a nature conservation area and slope down a hillside gradually to the sea. Eric Fabre is the former winemaker at Chateau Lafite Rothschild. Serve with cold cuts and grilled meats. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
