Château Camplong Grande Réserve Corbières A.O.P. is a medium-bodied, bone-dry blend of Grenache, Mourvèdre, and Syrah from the sun-baked hills of the Languedoc, vinified without oak to let the fruit speak clearly. On the nose it's warm and inviting, with boysenberry, dried fig, cracked black pepper, and a whiff of wild garrigue. On the palate it's juicy and rounded, with stewed plum, bitter cocoa, iron-tinged earth, and a chewy finish with supple tannins. Produced by Vignerons de Camplong, a cooperative based in the village of Camplong d'Aude in the heart of the Corbières appellation, one of the Languedoc's most rugged and characterful wine regions. Drink it now through 2029. Pour it alongside slow-braised blade roast, where the wine's dark fruit and earthy depth lock in perfectly with the falling-apart meat, or try it with a meat-lover's pizza straight from a wood-fired oven for a no-fuss weeknight pairing that delivers every time.

Food pairings: meat-lover's pizza, slow-braised blade roast, Coq au vin.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
