Reviews and Ratings

Greg Hughes rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This big Bordeaux blend has a lot to offer. It's ageable and well made. It comes from a difficult vintage that people are only starting to appreciate now. It is reaching peak maturity sooner, which makes it a good buy if you plan on having it tonight. It comes frombthe Graves, so it is Cab dominated but it also has a lot of Merlot and some delicious Petit Verdot.
Deep colour. Opaque ruby/garnet. Mainly because of the Verdot.
Nice aromatics. Plum, tobacco, and tea leaves. Some cassis and bramble.
Nice ripeness on the palate. It relies heavily on the Merlot/Verdot contrast to the Cab, for the palate. Lots of dark plum, blueberry, and blackberry. Dried herbs too.
Pair it with beef wellington.
Château Brown (2012) is a 50% Cabernet Sauvignon 46% Merlot 4% Petit Verdot Bordeaux blend from the Pessac-Léognan appellation. Drink now and for the next five years. - Community Wine Reviews

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
