Youthful with firm tannins: needs cellar time then decant 2 hours. Aromas of black fruit, toasty oak, cedar and cigar box. This hails from the strong 2010 vintage. Pair with a rare steak.

Food pairings: grilled rare steak, lamb lollipops, venison tenderloin.

Reviews and Ratings

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

This 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon is showing some maturity of colour in the glass while the palate is still maintaining some youth with fresh berries and racy acidity. Good earthiness, mocha, licorice and fresh herbs with a lift of familiar graphite. Tannins are evident but smoothing. Some more time in the cellar will impart a different story. Medium-bodied red wine that will pair nicely with finer cut of grilled red meat.
Tasted: February 2017
Château Bernadotte 2010 is produced by Ulysse Cazabonne. This elegant, medium-bodied red blend from France's Haut-Médoc wine region in Bordeaux is showing ripe blackberry, vanilla and fine-grained, albeit firm, tannins. Great promise here from a strong vintage. Drink now and through to 2020. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
