A robust red wine from the southern French region of the Cote du Rhone. This full-bodied red blend features aromas of fleshy ripe blackberry, dark plum, black pepper and smoke. Great value for the price. Pair with a grilled steak or hampburger.

Reviews and Ratings

Nick Hirons rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

This cuvee, coming from 50+ year old vines, is a year in, year out value that's a no-brainer. Notes of black raspberries, cassis and spice all emerge from this medium to full-bodied, charming, elegant and polished red that has no hard edges and a supple finish. It's perfect for drinking over the coming 4-5 years with grilled meats and fine cheese.
Fiona Burke rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Charles Tort is a gem of a wine! I love the 2013, but the 2015 is deeper, richer and slightly spicier. I don't tire of this wine and it a perfect 'go-to' for every occasion. It's soft fruit is extremely approachable but it has a depth of character which makes it work with richer foods. It's a great bridge between Old World and New World styles--heaps of fresh, ripe fruit, balanced acidity and more complexity that you'd expect to find in this price point.
