Reviews and Ratings

Patrick Ayotte rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Clear cherry red color. Expressive nose of red berries, earth and spices. On the palate, flavor of freshly picked strawberries pops in then a light spicy side adds depth to the wine. With air, flavors of cherries and dust will also be feeled. Savoury and fresh wine. Alcohol level of 12,5%
Corinna Horton rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Lip smakingly dry with a slightly astringent bite that makes for such a great food wine, a wine that makes you salivate is a wine to enjoy with dinner. Medium bodied, with that signature cherry back and hint of barn; a true taste of Burgundy without breaking the bank. Solid entry level Burgundy wine from a winemaker with a linage of style and tradition. This is a wine that will make you thirsty for more. Hold on to your wallet.

Pair with a simple butter herb roasted chicken, a tangy frieze salad (with a poached egg and lardons!) or a ripe, semi-firm sheep's milk cheese.
Jane LeFresne reviewed this wine as follows:

Why I Tried this Wine: Another wine from my current sommelier course list. Interesting fact, this winery was opened in 1750 during the reign of King Louis XV, that’s a pretty long history.

Tasting Notes: cherry colour

Aromas of raspberry, cherry, spices with hints of smoke, earth and vanilla.

Flavours of sour cherry, raspberry and coffee.

This wine has a grippy mouthfeel with a long tannic finish.

Food Pairing: lamb, pork and duck.

Would I buy this Wine Again: This wouldn’t be the first Pinot Noir I grab off the shelf but if you like big bold wines that have high acidity and tannins, this wine is for you.
