Chanson Bourgogne Pinot Noir from Burgundy A.O.C. is a bright, elegant, medium-bodied red of unmistakable Burgundian pedigree, sourced from select estate-owned vineyards across the Côte de Nuits and the southern Côte de Beaune, opening with a delicate, perfumed nose of dried raspberry, fresh peony, and a whisper of forest floor and clove, underpinned by a subtle earthy minerality that gives the wine a sense of place far beyond its regional classification. At just 12.5% alcohol it is graceful and light on its feet, with a firm thread of acidity, supple tannins, and a clean, lingering finish that promises to develop nicely through 2029. Serve it at a cool room temperature and allow it a few minutes to open before pouring. Winemaker Jean-Pierre Confuron leads vinification at this storied house, where whole-cluster fermentation is used across the range to preserve the grape's natural aromatic purity, a hallmark of the Chanson style. Founded in 1750, Chanson counts Voltaire, the poet Lamartine, and the Bonaparte family among its historic clients, and its celebrated 15th-century bastion fortress remains one of Burgundy's most iconic wine cellars, its walls nearly three metres thick, housing thousands of barrels at the heart of medieval Beaune.

Pinot Noir food pairings: roast duck breast with a cherry and thyme sauce, mushroom and gruyère tart with a simple green salad, pan-seared salmon with a pinot noir butter reduction.
