Sweet chocolate, mocha and coffee espresso on the nose of this big Italian red wine displays aromas of fleshy black plums on the palate. A muscular wine, right up to the flavour punch on the finish. Umberto Cesari makes finely crafted wines from Sangiovese, a signature Italian red wine.

Sangiovese food pairings: hard cheeses, pasta, Tuscan salami.

Reviews and Ratings

This very fresh and fleshy Sangiovese from the Emilia-Romagna wine region is dark chocolate and coffee on the nose with ripe black plums and dusty herbs and a hint of vanilla on the palate. Cesari Riserva (2013) is made by Umberto Cesari, and who is considered one of Romagna's finest wine producers. He led the way with exports around the world, helping to familiarize wine lovers with the region. This robust Italian red wine was aged for two years in Slovenian and Italian oak barrels.- Community Wine Reviews

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
