Cellier des Saint-Étienne Côte de Brouilly from Beaujolais is a concentrated, medium-bodied red offering aromas of crushed blackcurrant, dried thyme, and hints of volcanic stone. It's dry with fine tannins and vibrant acidity. Serve it lightly chilled with coq au vin as the wine's juicy fruit and mineral depth will enhance the rich, wine-braised chicken beautifully, or pair it with charcuterie and aged Comté cheese where the wine's savory complexity and persistent finish will complement the cured meats and nutty cheese perfectly. The winemaking team at Cellier des Saint-Étienne, now part of the Vinescence cooperative formed in 2017 when three historic caves merged, crafts this wine from hand-harvested Gamay grown on the steep volcanic slopes of Mont Brouilly. Founded in 1955 in Saint-Étienne-des-Oullières, this cooperative was awarded a Gold Medal at Concours des Vins Macon in 2025 for its distinctive expression of the ancient volcanic blue stone soils that give Côte de Brouilly its mineral character and aging potential. Enjoy now or cellar for 3-6 years.

Food pairings: coq au vin, charcuterie with aged Comté cheese, roasted duck with herbs.
