Blackberry pie on the nose and palate wrapped in smoke and toasty oak which imparts lots of sweet chocolate and mocha aromas. This fleshy, full-bodied and delicious Californian red wine is a cult classic. Pair with pepper steak.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: grilled New York strip loin, pork tenderloin, hamburger, hard cheese, grilled lamb chops.

Reviews and Ratings

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review:

Caymus' 40th anniversay Napa Valley Cab Sauvignon is a master piece! Deep and inky, with great concentration, the palate is silky smooth and so refined! An absolutely lovely wine demonstrating everything I love about Napa Cabs. Loads of dark fruit, spice, baked goods, absolutely incredible! 94 points. Tasted March 2015. Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

It's a celebration in a bottle for this 40th Anniversary Caymus California Cabernet Sauvignon. Dark and inky with lots of extraction showing in the legs. A concentrated party mix of black and blue berries, sweet baking spices, chocolate and cherry cordial. This is one elegant party guest. Pair with finer cuts of beef and savour the evening.
Tasted: April 2015
This cult Californian Cabernet blend celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. The family has been farming in Napa Valley for five generations. The winemaker is Chuck Wagner. Lots of oak on the nose and palate. - Community Wine Reviews
