Castello di Querceto I Colombi Chianti Classico from Tuscany is an elegant, structured red wine showcasing notes of sour cherry, fresh sage, and subtle leather with hints of cardamom and toasted oak. It's dry and full-bodied with polished tannins and vibrant acidity that carries through to a lengthy, savory finish. Serve it at room temperature with osso buco as the wine's rich texture and herbal character will complement the braised veal beautifully, or pair it with aged pecorino cheese where the wine's bright acidity and earthy notes will enhance the nutty flavors. Winemaker Giovanni Cappelli, who has been with the estate for over 20 years contributing greatly to its growth, crafts this wine for the François family who have owned Castello di Querceto since 1897. The François family were founding members of the Consorzio del Chianti Classico, and they are one of few families in the region who have remained uninterruptedly in possession of their winemaking business for over a century. This wine drinks beautifully now or can cellar for 3-5 years to develop additional complexity.

Chianti Classico food pairings: osso buco, aged pecorino cheese, beef ragu with pappardelle.
