Casarena Estate Malbec from Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza is a juicy, medium-bodied red offering aromas of plum, blackcurrant, and subtle notes of cocoa and sweet spice. It's dry with smooth, velvety tannins and vibrant acidity. Serve it slightly below room temperature with grilled ribeye steak as the wine's fresh fruit character and polished texture will enhance the charred meat's savory richness beautifully, or pair it with empanadas where the wine's approachable structure and vibrant berry flavors will complement the seasoned filling perfectly. Winemaker Agustín Alcoleas, who studied at Juan Agustín Maza University and honed his craft in Sonoma, Provence, and Saint-Émilion before joining Casarena, oversees all stages of production from their historic 1937 winery in Perdriel. Built on distinctive sand-colored stone and sandy soils that inspired the winery's name—a creative blend of "casa" (house) and "arena" (sand)—Casarena is focused on discovering hidden micro-terroirs within the historic Luján de Cuyo appellation to showcase the region's diversity. Enjoy now or cellar for 3-5 years.

Malbec food pairings: grilled ribeye steak, empanadas, beef tacos.
