Reviews and Ratings

Greg Hughes rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

100% Sangiovese. It was aged in more traditional large, slavonian oak casks. Floral, light, and pretty.
The colour is pale ruby. Dark towards the core.
The aromas have some cherry, tomato leaf, tobacco, and rosehip.
Refined and restrained. Give it some time in a decanter. It has some super smooth and ripe tannins. It has a lot more juicy fruit on the palate. Cherry and cranberry.
Very light and bright, for a Brunello.
Pair it with soem smoked duck. Don't keep it too long. Maybe 2-3 more years.
Carpineto (2012) is a full-bodied Brunello Di Montalcino from the Tuscany wine region. Dark spice, ripe plums, green herbs and crushed violets can be found on the nose with same on the palate with a spicy cinnamon, clove and anise finish. - Community Wine Reviews

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Rex Pickett, Sideways

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
