Cantine di Ora Amicale Veneto IGT is a dry, medium-to-full-bodied red blend of 50% Corvina, 30% Rondinella and 20% Molinara that pours a deep, inky ruby and opens with an intensely aromatic nose of stewed black cherry, dried pomegranate and pressed violet, layered with warm notes of star anise, smoked paprika and a thread of toasted almond that draws you in before the first sip. The palate is dense and velvety, with polished tannins and a chewy, refreshing core of concentrated fruit lifted by bright acidity, finishing long with lingering notes of warm cinnamon and sun-dried sage. Serve it at room temperature and enjoy from now through 2030. Winemaker Egidio Finazzer crafts this wine using a partial appassimento technique, selecting the finest Corvina grapes during harvest and drying them in temperature-controlled wooden crates for up to 120 days, a method that concentrates the sugars and aromas and shares its soul with the great Amarone tradition of the Veneto. Cantine di Ora is part of Schenk Italia, whose origins trace back to 1893 when Swiss entrepreneur Charles Schenk founded his wine company in Rolle, Switzerland, with the winery at Ora established in 1960, now in its fourth and fifth generations of family ownership. Try this alongside a slow-roasted duck with orange and thyme, where the wine's dark fruit intensity and spiced depth make a beautifully complementary match, or pair it with a classic Bistecca Fiorentina for a richly satisfying Italian pairing.

Food pairings: roast duck, roast Mediterranean chicken with olives and grapes, Bistecca Florentine.
