The winery's names translates to small chapel in the oak woodlands, and the estate is nestled in the hills of the Chianti Classico region near the town of Siena in Tuscany. The vineyards are planted at 1250 feet above sea level. An earthy, full-bodied wine with smoky dark red fruit and good, mouth-watering acidity. Best consumed with hearty dishes involving tomato sauce. Mixed spices and black raspberry on the finish. A wine to satisfy a savage thirst (for good wine).

Chianti Classico food pairings: meat ravioli, beef stew, roast chicken.

Reviews and Ratings

This Chianti Classico from the Tuscany wine region. Canonica A Cerreto Riserva (2011) is a 85% Sangiovese, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Merlot red wine blend. The wine has a mouthwatering acidity and screams for your best meat lasagne, meat pizza or rich tomato sauce and meat dish. There is plenty of ripe red, juicy fruit on the palate, but this wine needs big food. - Community Wine Reviews
