Canoe Ridge Vineyard has given "The Expedition" title to its wines, playing off the ridgetop site named by Lewis and Clark after they noted that it looked like an overturned canoe. Love this Merlot produced from grapes sourced from the Horse Heaven Hills. Look for ripe cherry, plum, flinty flavours matched with vibrant acidity on the palate. Tannins are fine-grained.

Merlot food pairings: pork chops, pizza with meat topping, gourmet burgers.

Reviews and Ratings

Canoe Ridge, The Expedition 2017 Merlot is produced from wine grapes sourced from the well-known Horse Heaven Hills in the Columbia Valley wine region. This is a sleek and sexy Merlot (yes, Merlot can be sexy :) with fresh red cherry, crushed raspberry, spiced plum, flinty and fine herb flavours smooth and silky on the palate. Enjoy now and for the next four years. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
